Owen's talks have been received with passionate enthusiasm by many dozens of professional and lay audiences all over the United States and abroad. He can handle any size group from ten to several hundred, and the talk can range from a one-hour presentation to an all-day workshop. He is always happy to tailor the program to your specific needs.

An audio cassette of some of Owen's workshops is available to interested parties free of charge. We will be happy to mail a copy to you on request.

Owen is passionate about educating people on the value and importance of sustainable landscaping. He's made a difference in the lives of thousands of landscape professionals and home gardeners. He'd be pleased to do the same for your group.

Owen's speaking fees reflect an attempt to maintain parity with his earning potential in his landscaping business. That is, he charges for speaking what he would bill for the same amount of time spent on behalf of a client in his role as landscape architect. On a per-day basis that amounts to $2,000.00. For speaking engagements outside of the Santa Barbara, California area there is a one-day minimum billing. For speaking engagements out of state there is a $2,000.00 minimum billing. For international speaking engagements, please contact us to discuss fees and arrangements.

In addition to speaking fees, you would need to cover expenses, which typically include transportation (airfare/car rental or auto mileage), one night's lodging (unless he flies in and out on the same day), meals and any printing or other costs for supplies. Fees and reimbursement for expenses are payable on the day of the talk. You will need to provide a slide projector, an overhead projector and a screen. If you are equipped for Power Point presentations Owen can present in that format as well. A chalkboard is desirable but not necessary.

At no extra charge Owen will be happy to spend some time in advance helping you plan your program, coordinating my talk with others, and customizing handouts for your audience.

For audiences of professionals and aspiring professionals, Owen often brings along some copies of his book and other informational materials to sell, if that is permitted. Or if you are working with a bookseller for back-of-the-room sales, they are of course welcome to stock the book and he will be happy to let them handle the sales.
